Connecticut Department of Public Health Receives $4M for Colorectal Cancer Screening

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has awarded over $4 million to the DPH Comprehensive Cancer Program to conduct a statewide colorectal cancer screening initiative. Receipt of the award was announced by Renee Coleman-Mitchell, Section Chief of the Health Education, Management & Surveillance Section of DPH. The new program will be integrated with the existing Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program and will provide colonoscopies to low-income and medically underserved residents of Connecticut for a 5-year period.
